Revealing The Wintrust Mural Honoring Our 100th Year

Thursday, July 25th was the ribbon cutting ceremony for the big reveal of the Wintrust wall mural honoring our 100th Anniversary! Staff, Trustee members, and club members (from Clubs One, Two, Barreto and Englewood) attended to see the mural which is on display until the end of August and visible from I-90/94 right before Exit 48B (North Avenue) going southbound. It pays homage to the Chicago neighborhoods that our clubs serve and represents the dreams and bright futures of our members.
Wintrust selected the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs as a featured nonprofit for the wall back in March. The financial company honors a handful of nonprofits every year with a mural that they design.
At the ceremony, Union League Boys & Girls Clubs’ Board President, Mr. Craig Labus, spoke about how the mural draws attention to the great story that the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs developed for itself over the past century. A current Union League Boys & Girls Clubs member, Isabella, delivered a speech she prepared about how the clubs give her a place to go and be active. “From the moment the club opens we have something to do,” Isabella shared.
Film crews from NBC 5 and ABC 7 also joined – which did wonderful coverage of the event and mural – as did a representative from Wintrust Bank. We thank all those that attended and shared in this significant milestone in the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs’ history!
