Union League Boys & Girls Clubs in partnership with Chicago Public Schools District 299 intend to submit an application to the Illinois State Board of Education for a Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Program grant. The grant will support an academic-focused after school program for students at the following schools listed. In the Archer Heights community, Acero Charter Schools: Major Hector P. Garcia MD High School, PFC Omar E. Torres Elementary School, and SPC Daniel Zizumbo Elementary School. In the Englewood community, Englewood STEM High School and Lilly R. Nicholson STEM Academy Elementary School. In the New City community, Air Force High School and Richard J. Daley Elementary School. In the South Lawndale community, Acero Charter Schools – Octavio Paz Elementary School. In the West Englewood community, Daniel S. Wentworth Elementary School.
